Downloading games directly from the news site

Answer

Every day you will find on our news pages up-to-date tournament reports many of which are supplemented by extensively annotated games. If you own ChessBase 14, then you have at your disposal a simple way to download these games directly into your database program, without  having to work through PGN downloads or any other data-handling operations.

To do so, you proceed as follows.

Make sure that you have ChessBase 14 loaded as well as being logged on to our news site with your ChessBase Account.

The previous screenshot shows the login to the news site, and the following screenshot the login within CB 14.

Look for an article with games which are being displayed in our CB Replayer. Now all that is needed is a single click within the notation in order to be able to download the game into CB 14. In this case the game is immediately saved into the CloudClip database, to which you have of course direct access within CB 14 – of course there is the precondition that you have an active internet connection.

So after you have clicked on the game on the replayer on the website or played through it, switch over to CB 14 and click on Cloud databases.

If you now click on the games list in the CloudClip, you will find the game notation including annotations which you loaded on the news site and you can then play through this game notation or copy it into a database stored on your computer!

You should make use of this very practical opportunity especially to rapidly add to your games collection.
